Scientists say anxious parents and their children share a deep and unusual inheritance between parts of their brains that generate a fear response.

A recent U.S. study found that children may inherit anxiety from their parents who suffer from the same condition.

The British newspaper "Daily Mail" from the Universities of Wisconsin and California, that children inherit the same qualities of the brain from their parents, which makes them vulnerable to the same psychological state.

* Simple steps to control anxiety and stress

Psychologists have long observed patterns of anxiety in families, but most research suggests that the similarity is due more to "upbringing" than to "genetic" nature.

But new examinations in this study of brain structures in monkey families with anxiety have identified at least one genetic brain circuit that plays an important role in the development of anxiety.

Scientists have found that anxious parents and their children share an unusually strong inheritance between parts of their brains that generate a fear response and can lead to years of anxiety.

The study also showed that children with volatile moods are often shy, and may inherit from their parent's brain traits that lead to an exaggerated reaction of fear.

It turns out that the cases of severe shyness and mood swings in young monkeys are due by one-hundredth of a percent to heredity from the parents.

However, the scientists stressed that this does not mean that they have found the roots of all or even some cases of anxiety, but the study shows that there is at least one brain circuit related to childhood anxiety states that usually precede the disorder in adulthood, and then at least partially passed from father to child in the key parts similar between them.

In any case, the study shows that this may help scientists develop new strategies to help people overcome anxiety and intervene early in life before children continue to develop these disorders.
